Graphics Installation & Production Checklist

Who doesn't like a checklist? There's something very rewarding about placing a tick next to a to-do item, especially one that helps your life run just that little bit smoother. Well, our graphics installation team is exactly the same, which is why we came up with this unbeatable process.

In tandem with the mighty checklist, we find that a little information can go a long way. And any knowledge that helps a job run along nicely, or shares any foresight to potential issues is super valuable to us as a large format print company and supplier.

With this in mind, we've put together a distilled list to help you understand the process of a job. One which helps us gather the information we need to run a job coherently, efficiently, and correctly. By no means is this everything we may need, but it's a set of pointers and a mental checklist to remember when working on a job. We thought it would be useful for you also, it gives you a little insight into what we need to know. What we may ask you; and what you might need to be involved with or be asked to help out with. A job goes on its full journey from brief to graphics installation.

The Graphical Tree checklist

  • Checking job briefing
  • Checking all relevant dimensions with the client
  • Preparing the job estimate
  • Ordering the right quantities and correct materials for job production
  • Making sure we are aware of key project milestones and deadlines
  • Working with our client to ensure we receive artwork at the correct date, especially if the installation deadline is fixed
  • Checking or creation of artwork
  • Production of graphics
  • Checking of graphics against artwork and dimensions
  • Organisation of the installation team
  • Checking delivery addresses
  • Checking customer contact names
  • Liaising with the installation location regarding the fitting of graphics
  • Writing up any required Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Briefing of installers
  • Installation of graphics
  • Is de-rig required
  • Client follow-up to check all is well and everyone is satisfied with the end result

Of course, this is a distilled catch-all including items we may need to be aware of. For example, we might be delivering your graphics to multiple destinations rather than installing them at one location. But the proof is in the planning, and if we have a mental checklist at the time of the briefing, we can pull out the items from the list relevant to a particular job.

If you have any questions about our methods and would like to know any further information just let us know, email our print team: print@thegraphicaltree.com Alternatively, how about sending us a job to put the checklist to the test? And remember, any info you can give us at the start goes a long way to make a job a successful one.
